Immediate Past Chair

Carmen Salomé has a Master’s Degree in Management and 17 years of local government experience. She specialized in budgeting and community affairs. Her employment included 10 years working for the Lee County Board of County Commissioners and 7 years with the City of Rochester, New York. Over the past years, she has participated in committees for the City of Cape Coral and is a past member of the News-Press Citizen’s Editorial Board and other governmental and political organizations. She successfully started and ran a GED program for 7 years at her church that is still going strong. Carmen has served on the FVI Board for six years and has a passion to help people. As a single, divorced Mom that working several jobs while attending college, she knows first-hand how hard work and determination can lead to a better life. Carmen lives in Fort Myers with her husband J.D., a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army.
